A stethoscope is an instrument doctors and nurses use to listen to sounds inside your body. They put one end in their ears and touch the other end on your skin to listen to your heartbeat, breathing etc. This allows doctors to listen to things going on inside your body and typically they are looking for abnormal heart valves, weakened heart muscle, and any congenital heart diseases.
