Accupril - QUINAPRIL (Accupril) is an antihypertensive (blood pressure lowering agent) known as an ACE inhibitor. Quinapril controls high blood pressure (hypertension) by relaxing blood vessels; it is not a cure. High blood pressure levels can damage your kidneys, and may lead to a stroke or heart failure. Quinapril also helps to treat patients with heart failure (heart does not pump strongly enough). Generic quinapril tablets are not yet available.

Accupril is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It decreases certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump more efficiently. This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
